Prescriptions
Ordering a repeat prescription
- Please allow us 48 hours (two working days), to process your prescription request.
- We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.
When you order a prescription online, you can have it sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called a nomination.
The NHS App
Order repeat prescriptions via the NHS App or NHS website, and have them sent to a pharmacy of your choice.
Online Form
Order your repeat prescription via our online Repeat Prescription form.
In Person
You can order in person by returning the right-hand half of a previous prescription for the required medications.
Or, you can submit a handwritten request. You may also write out an order for someone else. You must include the patient's name, date of birth and requested medication.
By Post
You can post your prescription slip or written request to us at the Practice.
If you're unable to collect your prescription from the surgery, please include a stamped, addressed envelope for return by post. Please allow at least seven days if requesting your medication by post.
Your Local Pharmacy
Pharmacy Ordering
If you run short of medication unexpectedly, your regular Pharmacist may be able to help you pending a repeat prescription being ordered in the normal way. This saves you time and unnecessary visits to the Practice. Please contact the Pharmacy of your choice for more information if you wish to use this service.

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

What to do with old medicines
Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
Collecting a repeat prescription
You can collect your repeat prescription yourself or have a friend or relative pick it up from your nominated pharmacy. Prescriptions are no longer available at the surgery's reception, so please inform the receptionists of your chosen pharmacy. Alternatively, you can provide a stamped, addressed envelope for us to post your prescription.
You'll need to confirm your name and address, or that of the person collecting the prescription, and may be asked to show ID. Please cooperate with our staff. Local chemists offer delivery for patients who are permanently or temporarily housebound.
